# How to Hide a Product Price
Usually, the best sales strategy is pricing transparency, as it creates consumer confidence. However, there may be times when you might want to hide a product price.
For example, you might want to preview a product that will be coming soon, but you haven't decided on a price yet.
Or, maybe you have an item that's very high-end and exclusive. You could let luxury buyers know that they can request the price.
Or, maybe you have a product whose price fluctuates from day to day.
Or, you may want to hide prices from your competitors, but allows shoppers to see the price once they log into your store.
You get the idea.
There's also a little shopping psychology behind hiding the price of a product. It forces the customer not to think about how much an item costs, but what they are getting. They will pay what it costs.
To hide the **Price** field on your storefront, follow these steps:
1. From your Admin Area, go to **Inventory** *\>* **Products**.
2. Select the **Product Code** of the product to edit.
3. Set the **Price** to: "0.00"
4. Under **Advanced Info** in the **Product Display** tab, enter " " (without the quotes) in the **Product Price Name** field.
**Heads Up:** You can't hide a product price if you want to set a product price above 0.00*.* This is mainly useful for merchants who are setting up [Donations](https://help.volusion.com/s/howtoacceptdonationsinyourstore?hsLang=en-us) or [Gift Certificates](https://help.volusion.com/s/giftcertificates?hsLang=en-us).
