As long as your image is the ideal width for your theme, you can make your slideshow taller or shorter by using images that are taller or shorter than the ideal height. Just make sure that all your images are the same width and height!
Note: We don't usually recommend making the slideshow taller, because you want to make sure your customers can see the content under your slideshow without needing to scroll.
