Unless you only offer a few items, it's a good idea to organize your products by category. Categories make it easier for shoppers to explore your store and find the products that are right for them. You can use your Categories app to set up and edit categories individually.

How to Create a Category

To add a new category to your store, follow the steps below. As you go, you'll see a storefront preview of the category page you're creating in the Storefront Panel.

  1. Press Add a Category.
  2. In the Name field, type text of your choice. It displays in your store's navigation menu.
  3. In the Description field, enter descriptive text. This value isn't required, but it helps your customers find what they need and it helps search engines index your website content so it ranks higher in search results.
  4. In the drop zone, add a photo. For more information, see "How to Manage and Edit Images".
  5. Press Save.

Congratulations! You've successfully added a category.
