To begin setup, click the Settings icon in your site's left hand Navigation Menu.

From the Settings page, choose the Shipping link at the top of the page.

Ship To Locations Section

This section allows you to check all the countries you want to ship to. Customers in countries that you did not include will not be able to purchase products from you. For more information on setting up Shipping Locations refer to our Settings: Shipping article, located HERE.

Restricting Free Shipping

An important note on Free Shipping: If you want to offer Weight and/or Price based shipping in addition to Free Shipping, you will want to uncheck the Free Shipping On All Orders checkbox. If you want to offer both Free shipping on all orders as well as a priced expedited option (such as Next Day Shipping), you won’t be able to use the Free Shipping section. You must instead create a “Free Shipping” option for every price/weight range.

You can restrict ship-to-locations on both Free Shipping On All Orders as well as the specific price based Free Shipping option by clicking the Edit Ship To Locations button.

Clicking the Edit Ship To Locations button will open a popup that will show you first the Regions you have chosen for shipping in the Ship To Locations section. Using the Down Arrow icon to the right of the Region you can view the Countries you have chosen for shipping. If your chosen Countries have additional State or Province options, you can click the Down Arrow icon next to the Country to view those. At each level, you can uncheck the box to the right of the Region/Country/State or Province to exclude it from this shipping option.

Click the Done Editing button when finished. Your selection is now Restricted from shipping. Click the Save button at the top left of the Shipping page to complete setup.

For additional information on setting up Free Shipping refer to our Free Shipping article located HERE.

Restricting Price Based Shipping

Price Based shipping methods can also be restricted. For more information on setting up this type of shipping refer to our Price Based Shipping article HERE.

To Restrict a Price Based shipping method locate the method you wish to edit in the Price Based Rates section. Click the name of the shipping method to access the Edit Price Rate section. To the right of the rate information you will see the Edit pencil icon. Click this icon to access the Edit Ship To Location For (Name of Shipping Method) popup.

This popup will show you first the Regions you have chosen for shipping in the Ship To Locations section.

Restricting Weight Based Shipping

Weight Based shipping can also be restricted. For more information on setting up these shipping methods check out our Weight Based Shipping article located HERE.

To Restrict a Weight Based shipping method locate the method you wish to edit in the Weight Based Rates section. Click the name of the shipping method to access the Edit Weight Rate section. To the right of the rate information you will see the Edit pencil icon. Click this icon to access the Edit Ship To Location For (Name of Shipping Method) popup.

This popup will show you first the Regions you have chosen for shipping in the Ship To Locations section.

An Important Note On Restricting Shipping

When you restrict shipping for any Shipping Method you are essentially eliminating that shipping option for the restricted location. It is important to have another shipping option for the location. If you do not have an alternate option, customers in the restricted area will be offered Free Shipping by default.

For instance, if you have a Price Based shipping option and you exclude Alaska and Hawaii from that method, you will want to create another Price based option specifically for Alaska and Hawaii. This can be done by creating the shipping method and unchecking every state except Alaska and Hawaii in the Edit Ship To Location For (Name of Shipping Method) popup.

Additional Shipping Notes

If you restrict a shipping method to a Country/State/Province and then later add another country in the Ship to Locations section, that country will automatically be added to every shipping method, even the ones you previously restricted. You will need to access your shipping methods and manually restrict the new Country/State/Province as needed.

If you check “Free shipping on all orders” by mistake it will deactivate “Price Based Rates “or “Weight Based Rates” since it overrides those. When you uncheck “Free shipping on all orders” again, it won’t re-check Price or Weight based rates, so you will need to do so yourself manually.

You cannot have both price based rates and weight based rates active at the same time.

When you create an order in the admin instead of through the storefront checkout process, ALL shipping methods will show. The store admin will not be restricted to the ship-to location.
